Important Information for Donors

1. Are donations tax deductible?

No. Contributions are considered personal gifts and are not tax deductible. We explored using a nonprofit, but donations directed to a specific individual cannot legally be processed as charitable contributions. The maximum gift to an individual is $19,000 ($38,000 if coming from a joint account), after which there are tax implications for the donor. If you have questions about this, please contact Lynn.

3. How are the funds being handled?

At Stacy’s request, all donations are being collected centrally and then passed along in a single deposit. Lynn, who has financial power of attorney, will handle this. This approach keeps things simple and organized while ensuring funds are handled consistently.

2. Why is Zelle the preferred way to donate?

Zelle is preferred because it avoids processing fees and allows the full amount of your gift to go directly to Stacy. It is also fast and easy to track. That said, we appreciate contributions in whatever form is most convenient for you.

4. What oversight is in place?

To ensure transparency and integrity, fundraiser updates will be posted on this website, and financials will be reviewed weekly by Steve Horn who is a bonded financial advisor (reachable at SteveHorn@Fuse.net).
